Video: A Blue Fireball Lights Up The Sky Over Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana.

Videos posted on social media show a glowing fireball. Moving across the central Texas sky early Thursday morning. This phenomenon has also been seen by residents of Oklahoma and Louisiana.

The fireball was spotted around 5:36 am by morning passengers. Who were driving on the 400-kilometer Texas state highway. Video footage shows the rock glowing a bright blue hue before disappearing into the early morning sky.

The meteor was spotted by Texas residents from Austin to Houston. The American Meteor Society (AMS) said it had received 48 fireball reports. From people living in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana.

“It lit up the sky and I thought it might have been a very close firework at first; We were running and it was straight ahead and above us. Therefore, we had a great advantage to witness this.” – Said one of the residents of Houston.

Dozens of people reported seeing a fireball fly across the Texas sky.

“I spend a lot of time outdoors, so I see a lot of shooting stars in a year. It was very unique and outstanding. I have never seen anything like it,” said a resident of Richmond, Texas.

According to AMS, a fireball is a description of a very bright meteor. A meteor is a small body from outer space. Which becomes red-hot when it enters the Earth’s atmosphere due to friction. “Every day, several thousand meteors the size of a similar “fireball” occur in the Earth’s atmosphere.

The vast majority of them, however, occur over oceans and uninhabited regions. Many of them are masked by daylight. Those that occur at night also have little chance of being detected. Due to the relatively small number of people to notice them,” AMS explains.
