Arsenal summer signing suffers knee injury on Premier League debut
Arsenal were dealt a blow during their Premier League season opener against Nottingham Forest on Saturday when summer signing Jurrien Timber had to be hauled off through injury . The Netherlands defender joined from Ajax earlier this summer and made a good early impression for the Gunners throughout pre-season and in their Community Shield triumph against Manchester City last week. Timber started at left-back in Saturday's lunchtime kick-off against Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium and was playing well as Arsenal cruised into a two-goal lead - Eddie Nketiah's deflected strike broke the deadlock before Bukayo Saka added a second with a stunner from 25 yards. However, Timber was injured in first-half stoppage time in the act of trying to tackle Brennan Johnson, with the Welshman falling awkwardly onto Timber's knee.
